Liz Hingley graduated from Brighton University with a first class BA Honours in Editorial Photography in 2007. She went on to receive a two- year scholarship with FABRICA research and communications department in Italy. She completed an MSc in Social Anthropology at University College London in 2011.
Liz has received international acclaim for her work through publications, awards and exhibitions. 'Under Gods’ stories from Soho road was published in March 2011 By Dewi Lewis publishing. Liz was selected as one of PDN’s 2011 top 30 emerging photographers and nominated for the 2011 Joop Swart Masterclass. She was highly commended in both the 2010 and 2007 Ian Parry Award and finalised for the Eugene Smith Grant 2010. Her work has been published in international magazines and academic journals from, Le Monde, the Sunday Times and Foto8 to the Visual Cultures journal.
Hingley's Firecracker feature 'The Jones' is a collaborative project which speaks about the meaning – and the experience – of genuine deprivation within the context of a wealthy country. It was the receipient of the 2011 Getty Images Grant for Editorial Photography and will be a longer term body of work.
